Comprehensive guidelines for each creativity category to ensure marketplace integrity.
1. Made by the Seller
Definition: Physical items that are handmade or created using personal or computerized tools by the seller.
This category includes:
- Handcrafted Items: Products crafted entirely by hand, using basic materials and handheld tools.
e.g., A hand-carved wooden chair, a hand-knitted scarf. - Hand-Altered Items: Commercial items that have been significantly transformed by the seller’s craftsmanship.
e.g., A painted denim jacket, a reupholstered chair. - Hand-Assembled Items: Commercial components combined by hand to create a unique product.
e.g., A necklace made from beads and charms, a terrarium created from glass, plants, and soil. - Items Produced with Computerized Tools: Physical items designed by the seller and produced using tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, or CNC machines.
e.g., A custom-designed keychain made on a 3D printer, a laser-engraved wooden sign.
What is NOT considered “Made by the Seller”:
- Assembled products that follow the manufacturer’s instructions (e.g., flat-pack furniture).
- Commercial products with minimal alteration (e.g., mass-produced items with stickers).
Listing Requirement:
Listings must feature original photos or videos of the final product. For custom items, the primary image should showcase a finished, customized example rather than a blank product.
2. Designed by the Seller
Definition: Original designs created by the seller, which are produced by third parties or offered as digital downloads.
This category includes:
- Digital Downloads: Original content created by the seller, sold as digital files.
e.g., A digital print of original artwork, a custom sewing pattern. - Original Designs Produced by a Partner: Designs created by the seller but physically produced by a third-party manufacturer. Sellers must disclose the use of a production partner and provide accurate shipping origin information.
e.g., A t-shirt with a seller’s original graphic, printed by a partner. - AI-Prompted Creations by the Seller: Content generated with AI tools based on the seller’s original prompts. Sellers must disclose AI involvement in the listing description.
e.g., A digital art piece created from the seller’s original AI prompt.
What is NOT considered “Designed by the Seller”:
- Collections or scans of another person’s work.
- Bundles of AI prompts.
Listing Requirement:
Digital items and products created with production partners must include clear, original photos or renderings that reflect the seller’s design vision.
3. Handpicked by the Seller
Definition: Curated vintage items, items from nature, and curated collections personally selected by the seller.
This category includes:
- Vintage Items: Items that are at least 20 years old and personally curated by the seller. Xaysi Inc. may request documentation regarding age, source, or materials.
e.g., A 1980s vintage dress, a mid-century modern lamp. - Items from Nature: Unique, naturally formed items personally found or cultivated by the seller, in compliance with policies on protected species and materials.
e.g., A rare seashell, a polished geode, pressed wildflowers. - Gift Baskets & Curated Collections: Items curated and packaged around a clear, creative theme by the seller.
e.g., A “Local Coffee Lover” gift box with beans, a handmade mug, and a curated notebook.
What is NOT considered “Handpicked by the Seller”:
- Commercially available items less than 20 years old, even if styled to look vintage.
- Pre-made gift baskets or collections from a single brand.
- Reselling items from nature purchased from large retailers.
Listing Requirement:
Listings must feature photos or videos of the actual item(s) for sale.
4. Sourced by the Seller
Definition: Items that empower buyer creativity, including craft supplies and personalized products.
This category includes:
- Craft Supplies: Materials and tools designed to help buyers create something new.
e.g., Yarn, beads, blank canvases, craft kits. - Party Supplies: Items intended for event decoration, with a unique aesthetic.
e.g., Themed paper plates, balloons, gift wrap. - Buyer-Personalized Items Produced by a Partner: Items personalized with custom text or images, produced by a third-party manufacturer.
e.g., A mug personalized with a photo, a pillow with custom embroidery.
What is NOT considered “Sourced by the Seller”:
- Blank items ready for use without customization (e.g., plain t-shirts, blank tumblers).
- Generic tools or supplies not specifically related to crafting or personalization.
- Common party items not curated for a unique theme.
Listing Requirement:
Listings must include original photos of the actual items for sale or authorized commercial images, in compliance with our Intellectual Property Policy.
